Written by John Osbourne. Directed by David Harris at the New Players Theatre (now Charing Cross Theatre), London.
Osbourne's controversial play about the life and loves of the Austrian intelligence officer/spy Alfred Redl, based on the true story. I designed the set (shared with the other play I did, The House of Bernarda Alba) but also the costumes, including period clothing (1890‑1913), military uniforms, a drag ball with different period costumes (18th century, medieval, Harlequin, Lady Godiva, etc.) and a formal ball with military dress uniforms. All military uniforms made/supplied by History in the Making (www.history-making.com).
